I’m Going to Run a What?!
I’m going to run .. a marathon on May 4th in Vancouver.
Yeps. I’m in my 40th year (39 Forever Baby!) and a few years ago I emerged from the ashes with a promise to myself that I would start to appreciate life a little bit more. That starts with physical health. I started by playing a lot of tennis, I rode marathon mountain bike races that I thought I’d never do (3 times!). Rode a 3-day stage race (mountain bike races 3 days in a row). I ran half marathons, dropped meat and dairy from my diet and met people that would change my life in ways I never thought possible.
So, ya, getting to the point, some of you are aware of my work with the Canadian Diabetes Association and Team Diabetes. An incredible organization that raises money for Canadian research by way of athletic events. I took a bit of a hiatus recently but have committed my time to run under the Team D banner at the BMO Vancouver Marathon (FULL).
Being a member of Team D requires me to fund-raise for each event that you participate in. I need to raise a minimum of $350.00 for research or I will be tickled mercilessly by feather dusters.
I know it’s a bit of a bad time to dig for charitable donations, but it is what it is. Have a look here for my Team Diabetes Fundraising Page.
Help me to cross the finish line after running 42K.
If you feel like it, you can donate to my campaign at the URL below:

And with enough training I’ll cross the finish line on May 4th in Vancouver, standing up and not crawling, although highly possible.
Thanks everyone.
